Acta Asiatica Varsoviensia is an annual research journal from the Institute of Non-European Countries and since September 2010 - from the Institute of Mediterranean and Oriental Cultures of the Polish Academy of Sciences. AAV is a research journal where are published scientific texts in the field of humanities and social sciences, particularly in such disciplines as cultural studies, philosophy, political science, sociology, and religious studies. Among the polish and foreign authors, there are scholars with extensive experience and persons who are starting an academic career. AAV published scientific articles and reviews in English. There are also scientific articles in the congress languages related to Orientalism. 29 issues were published till 2016.

The journal is indexed in the databases CEJSH, Index Copernicus and ERIH PLUS.

The journal Acta Asiatica Varsoviensia was started in the year 1988 by professor Roman Sławiński, associated with the Centre for Studies on Non-European Countries (in 2010 transformed into the Institute of Mediterranean and Oriental Cultures). Initially the journal was published in Polish language. Since the year 2000 the journal was issued in English language, accepting also articles in German and French. The first issue of the journal published entirely in English was the thirteenth volume.
