All articles submitted to the journal are peer-reviewed according to the following procedure:
1. The initial review of the articles is carried out by the editor-in-chief and subject editor, who decide if the article fits the scope of the journal and meets the formal requirements set out in the Author guidelines.
2. After the first approval, the papers are sent to two independent reviewers, none of whom is affiliated with the same institution as the author. At least one of the reviewers is affiliated with a foreign institution other than the author’s nationality. In accordance with the principles of double-blind review process, the author and reviewers do not know each other’s identity.
The reviews include a clear statement that the article is accepted with minor/no revisions or is rejected.
3. On the basis of the reviews received, the editor-in-chief and at least one subject editor decide whether the article should be accepted for publication, rejected or sent for further review.
4. Once accepted for publication, the article is subject to further editorial procedures (author’s corrections, technical corrections, proofreading, etc.).
